Registered Occupational Therapist
Hi! I’m Leanne, the OT at Home Run Pediatric Occupational Therapy. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction in 2010, and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2012.
I have always been passionate about working with children of all abilities, and have spent my entire professional career specializing exclusively in pediatric health. I have been fortunate to work in a variety of contexts including early intervention, school age services and clinical care.
Prior to re-locating to Ottawa in 2019, I was the Divisional Occupational Therapist for Parkland School Division for 7 years. Within this role, I supported school-aged children in both inclusive and alternative environments. I was also a member of the Division’s Complex Needs Team, which supported students with severe/multiple disabilities.
I consider myself a lifelong learner and engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in the field. While I am interested in all things pediatrics, I have strong professional interests in Autism Spectrum Disorder and inclusive education.
In my spare time I like to run, hike and ski. My happy place is the Alberta Rockies and I try to go back whenever I can!
